Whether your child is a seasoned performer or brand new to the world of theatre, there is a place for them at the Rochester Civic Theatre this summer! Our summer camps give every student a chance to build their confidence, develop their performance skills, and shine on stage. Registration is open to everyone; once registered, campers attend an audition and each student is cast in a role. During the camp session, students participate in the full creation of a stage play, including blocking, character development, costume fittings, and technical rehearsals. The session culminates in a public performance on the main stage at the Rochester Civic Theatre!
One-Week Session
Students entering grades 2-8
Our one-week sessions are perfect for younger campers, those new to theatre, or students looking for a non-musical experience. Everyone registered is cast; students spend the week working on stage presence, blocking, projection, theatre games, and more. At the end of the week, campers perform in a fully-produced one-act play perfect for family audiences!
Camp meets Monday-Friday, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, with a ticketed performance Friday or Saturday evening at 7:00 pm.
Two-Week Session
Students entering grades 6-12
Our two-week sessions challenge older campers with putting on a fully-staged musical! Everyone registered is cast; during the session, students engage in music rehearsals, choreography, blocking, scene work, theatre games, and more. At the end of the session, campers perform twice in a fully-staged musical complete with sets, lights, costumes, and sound!
Camp meets Mondays-Fridays, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, with two ticketed performances Friday evening at 7:00 pm and Saturday afternoon at 2:00 pm.
