"I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being."

Thailand: What's love got to do with it?

August 5, 6 and 12, 2010
8:00pm

Directed by Brian Desmond
Written by Brian Desmond and Mairtín de Cogáin
Performed by Mairtín de Cogáin

Up until 2007, Ireland had enjoyed a unique period of wealth and the economic boom which the nation enjoyed was, as this play discusses, a double-sided coin with a seedy flip-side.

De Cógáin and Desmond said there is a story there, and there certainly was.
What emerged was a documentary piece about the less romantic underbelly of the Emerald Isle and a sharp commentary on the question that, in the age of globalisation, what does it mean to be a global citizen?

Show date: August 5, 6 and 12, 2010
