Adventures in Acting (Ages 5 - 6)

Rochester Civic TheatreThrough fun games and activities, students will be encouraged to use their own imaginations to create new characters and explore new worlds.  A great introduction to the theatrical arts.

Tuition:  $40 per Session (Each Session is 5 weeks)
Classes:  Mondays, 4:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Winter Session:

Class Dates: February 6 - March 6, 2017
Winter Showcase: Monday, March 6 at 6:00 pm

 


Acting Out (Ages 7 - 8)

Students will explore basic skills in voice, movement, and theatrical performance, and will apply these new skills to create an original play.  The play will be presented in the Student Showcase at the end of the Session.

Tuition:  $75 per Session (Each Session is 5 weeks)
Classes: Mondays, 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm (5 weeks)

Winter Session:

Class Dates: February 6 - March 6, 2017
Winter Showcase: Monday, March 6 at 6 pm

 


The Play's The Thing (Ages 9 - 12)

Designed for students with little to no acting experience, this class will introduce students to the basics of theatre and performance. Students will use their new skills to create an original play, which will be performed in the Student Showcase at the end of each Session 

Tuition:  $150 per Session (Each Session is 5 weeks)
Classes:  Mondays 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Winter Session:

Class Dates: November 7 - December 5, 2016
Student Showcase: Monday, December 5 at 6:00 pm

Spring Session:

Class Dates: March 13 - April 10, 2017
Student Showcase: Monday, April 10 at 6:00 pm

 


Musical Theatre (Ages 9 - 12)

Students will explore the three branches of musical theatre: acting, singing, and dancing. Students will learn skills in voice, movement, and creativity. Using these new skills, students will create original theatrical pieces which they will perform in the Student Showcase at the end of each Session.

Tuition:  $200 per Session (Winter Session is 5 weeks)
Classes: Fridays, 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Winter Session: 

Class Dates: January 6 - February 3, 2017
Student Showcase: Friday, February 3 at 6:00 pm

 


Acting 101 (Ages 13 and up)

Designed for the older student with little or no previous acting axperience, this class will teach the basics of theatrical voice, movement, and performance. While learning these skills, students will prepare and develop monologues and scenes which will be presented in the Student Showcase at the end of each Session.

Tuition: $150 per Session (Each Session is 5 weeks)
Classes: Mondays, 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Winter Session:

Class Dates: January 2 - 30, 2017
Student Showcase: Monday, January 30 at 6:00 pm

Spring Session: 

Class Dates: April 17 - May 22, 2017 (no class on May 1)
Student Showcase: Monday, May 22 at 6:00 pm

Directing (Ages 15 and up)

In this class, students will learn the basics of directing plays. They will explore various directing styles and techniques, and will present student-directed scenes in the Student Showcase at the end of the Session.

Tuition:  $150 per Session (Fall Session is 5 weeks)
Classes: Fridays, 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Fall Session:

Class Dates: September 9 - October 7, 2016
Student Showcase: Friday October 7 at 6:00 pm

 


Film Production (Ages 15 and up)

Students will work together to write, direct, act, edit, and produce a student film.  The original work will be screened in a Student Showcase at the end of the Session.

Tuition: $150 per session (Spring Session is 5 weeks)
Classes: Fridays, 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Spring Session:

Class Dates: March 24 - April 28, 2017
Student Showcase: Friday, April 28 at 6:00 pm

  • Student enrollment is confirmed upon receiving payment for the session.

  • A full refund will be given for cancellations received 30 days or more prior to the start of the session. Refunds will not be given for cancellations received less than 30 days prior to the start of the session.
